And we have a 1 month old!

Time has went by soooo fast! And I've loved every second! He's the most precious little baby and I can't get enough of him. He's so happy and smiles so much. He's found his little voice and has started making little sweet sounds. He's really a content baby, only crying when he's hungry or gassy. He loves laying on the changing table in the living room and looking out the window. We can strap him in and he'd lay there until it's time to eat again, if we'd let him. Dusty dog loves him to death. If he is crying, Dusty runs and lays by his side. When we pull in the garage and come in the house, he'll run and sit by the back car door until we get baby out and inside; I have no doubt in my mind they'll grow up to be best buddies. (At least until Emerson starts tugging on his tail!) Emerson loves to ride and, like his momma, loves going to get Mexican food, *wink. I go back to work in 3 weeks. I know that's going to be the hardest day, ever! I look forward in getting my routine back but thinking about being away from him just makes me so sad. Being in the care of someone else, family or not, just doesn't set well with me. But a zillion other moms have done it so I know I'll be just fine. 9 lb 10 oz, 22.5 in.

Week 3 - Already?

I can't believe he will be a month old in just a few days - doesn't.seem.possible.

He seems to be more alert during the day and feeding a bit more often. I can't wait to see how much he's grown at his next doctor's appointment. He makes the cutest noises and snorts; it's just adorable. He's such a sweet, happy baby!

3 weeks old

Emerson had his first holiday and church service this past weekend! Easter! He was alert for most of the day, taking in all the new faces and new places. It was such a wonderful weekend!

Week 2

Two weeks old already.

I can't say time has flown, because it's really went by kind of slow, which I absolutely love. I enjoy every second with my little man. He's the sweetest little baby - still eating, sleeping and going through lots of diapers. He still snorts like a little piglet when fussy, which is totally normal and a bit adorable. He still gives the most serious of looks. It's like he's studying and absorbing everything.

We had a small scare this past Friday. For the previous 2 days he had not kept anything down and was getting choked, taking a bit to catch his breath. Scary stuff! So we made our first (and hopefully last) trip to Children's to make sure he was ok. Turns out, he has horrible reflux and was very gassy. We have to feed him upright and take the bottle out of his mouth every 15-20 seconds to let him catch his breath and allow what he just drank to settle a bit. So far, he's done wonderful. What a relief, we were very scared!

We're looking forward to our first church service this Sunday and our first holiday, Easter! He'll get to meet some more of our families, although were still not "passing him around" quite yet. So many people excited to meet this beautiful blessing!

As for mommy and daddy, we're doing wonderful! Absolutely, wonderful!

Home sweet home! [Week 1]

1 week old

As I type, my little man is down for his morning nap. He is such a sweet, loving, perfect little baby. I'm so in love! His first week of life has been busy doing what all babies like to do - sleep, eat, with diapers in between. Except for maybe two nights, he sleeps through the night getting up only once for a short time. Such a good baby!

His face is so full of expression; he makes some of the cutest little faces. I could just sit and stare at him all day. No matter what he's doing, it's just cute. He makes us smile all the time.

His first Pediatrics appointment went well. It was 2 days after we came home from the hospital and he was up 4 ounces. He is healthy and perfect in every way. We are are nursing with some formula supplementation. He seems to always kick the blankets off his legs while sleeping, which is cute because we do too! He loves, loves, loves his little head to be rubbed. And believe it or not, he loves his sponge baths.
